Facts and workshops

What are the connections between animal farming, nutrition, the environment and the climate? Under what conditions are ‘farm animals’ kept? Faba Konzepte has compiled various collections of facts and designed argumentation workshops based on them.

The current food system is characterised by a high consumption of animal products and is therefore responsible for a large consumption of land and serious environmental and climate impacts. In order to create a sustainable food system, it is crucial to reduce the consumption of animal products and strengthen plant-based diets. A plant-based diet is more environmentally friendly and reduces greenhouse gas emissions and animal suffering.

As part of this project (officially entitled ‘Online Modules & Workshops for the Food Transition’), we have summarised scientific facts on the role of animal products and plant-based diets in a compact and understandable way and maked them available in an appealing format. The content is shared on social media and through argumentation workshops for multipliers. In addition to imparting knowledge, the workshops offer extensive space for networking between the various stakeholders.

The project was funded by Deutsche Postcode Lotterie, among others, and carried out in cooperation with the non-profit organisation NAHhaft e.V., which has many years of experience with projects in the field of food transition.

The content developed can also be found in the resource pool of the “Plattform Ernährungswandel”.

All FACTS ARE CURRENTLY ONLY AVAILABLE IN GERMAN.

Argumentation workshops

Are you committed to (more) plant-based nutrition and keep coming up against the same objections? Would you like to have well-founded facts at hand in discussions, but also be able to react better to unobjective discussion strategies?

The first part of this argumentation training provides you with knowledge about the benefits of plant-based diets for the environment, climate and animals. The content is based on an online information programme published by Faba Konzepte in January. In the second part, you will receive useful behavioural tips for various conversational situations. You can then apply what you have learnt in practical exercises. The training takes place in three cities in person, lasts 4 hours including breaks and is free of charge.
For all those who are unable to attend the face-to-face training sessions, there is a shortened version as an online workshop (2.5 hours including breaks) on two dates.

Note: There are currently no new dates for further argumentation training courses. If new training courses are planned, you will be informed here, via our social media channels or our newsletter.

Argumentation training in Hamburg

Over 50 participants attended our argumentation training sessions for the food transition in Hamburg, Kassel and Berlin in early 2025. In the workshops, they were able to familiarise themselves with meaningful facts as well as helpful discussion techniques – there was also room for exchange and networking. Many thanks to everyone who attended!
